Summer Farmer's Market Cooking Class

Healthy Eats Nutrition Services will be offering two cooking classes this month ~ August 17th and 25th from 6-8pm. The "Summer Farmer's Market series" - contact Elaina Moon at (509) 607-6862. There are 7 seats left for 8/25 class at $30.

 

Healthy Summer Desserts Cooking Class

It’s summer again and one of the most wonderful times of the year, for fresh fruit of course! Fruit in the Yakima Valley is amazing and what better way to utilize our wonderful produce than with a tantalizing dessert cooking class! Come learn some easy, fresh, and delicious dessert recipes that will leave you feeling good about eating something sweet again. This is a demo style class with audience participation. All individuals will get to taste and take home 5 fabulous recipes including: Plum and Blueberry Crisp, Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Cream and Tahini Caramel Sauce, and Watermelon Sorbet Pops, just to name a few. Introduction: Understanding the Food-Health Connection

October 8th

Come join Elaina Moon of Healthy Eats Nutrition Services and Dr. Yami of Nourish Wellness in this information-packed, delicious, cooking and nutrition class. This will be the first in a series of 4 quarterly classes that teach you scrumptious recipes in addition to the science behind why this way of eating will nourish you to a healthy body. Together these two ladies will keep you entertained, educated and your belly full! They will demonstrate five recipes to taste and take home including: Creamy Thai Sweet Potato Soup, Taste of Fall Quinoa Salad, and Maple Walnut Energy Bites.


Healthy Kids Cooking Class: Global Tasting

October 15th

New Kids Cooking Class: Global Tasting is here and it’s sure to be an exciting event! This hands-on cooking class is geared towards a kids cooking skill level with kid-friendly recipes that introduce dishes from different areas of the world. This is a fun way for kids to try new exciting ethnic flavors that are still kid friendly. Kids 8 years old and older are welcome to sign up, but please message me if you have questions on child’s age. Kids and parents will be divided into groups and will help prepare one of the 5 recipes. A parent will need to sign up with their kid(s) to the class and register per person attending. 16 spots available. 2 hour class full of fun, education, and eating! Recipes include: Tropical Oatmeal Buddha Bowls, Moroccan CousCous Salad, Thai Chop Salad and more!


Healthy Grocery Store Tour- Whole Foods Eating

October 21st

Healthy Eats Nutrition Services’ owner Elaina Moon has been providing grocery store tours for health coaching clients and Memorial Hospital community health programs for the last year. Now offering the first group grocery store tour open to the public to sign up! In this tour, we will focus on how to find healthy whole food options throughout the store.

Each person will receive a grocery store tour handout with information covered during the tour and a Healthy Eats grocery tote bag. See you at Fred Meyer!


Healthy Night Out Hands-On Cooking Class

October 29th

Grab a friend, spouse, or night out buddy and head over to a cooking class! Great outing for a fun night out featuring small plate recipes common when going out for appetizers, happy hour, or a party…with a healthy twist. Recipes are fancy but very easy to make at home for your own date night, friends night in, special family dinner, or party! 5 recipes total PLUS a fun “mock tail” recipe including: Potato Cilantro Pastries, Mexican Street Corn Salad, Chipotle Sweet Potato Tacos, and Ginger Pineapple juice! This is a hands-on cooking class and participants will be divided into small groups to work on a recipe for the class to share and enjoy. Feel free to bring your own apron to class. Class is 2 hours long with full meal. $23.00 for the class and tickets are non-refundable but are transferable. See you in class!

Healthy 5 ingredients or less Cooking Class

August 25 @ 6:00 pm

Our August 25th cooking class focuses on recipes that are 5 ingredients or less. We need quick, healthy, and easy recipes that taste great and this class proves you can do that with 5 ingredients or less! This is a demo style class with volunteer participation.  Classes are fun, interactive, and educational. What better way to try something new?

5 recipes to taste, take home, and demo. Some recipes include: Melon and Pistachio Parfaits, Baked Zucchini Lasagna, Chimichurri Herb Sauce featured on Veggie Paninis, and Apricot Almond Bars. So yummy and good for you!

3 Month Group Weight Loss Course

March 3rd at 5pm 

The group meets for one hour weekly with Holistic Health Coach, Sara Schade, for 12 weeks to learn new ways to support their weight loss goals. 

Understand why you’ve been struggling to lose weight and how to overcome those obstacles. Work alongside your health coach to develop a meal plan that is specific to your bio-individuality. Get the tools needed to keep the momentum even after the course has ended. This is a great chance to receive health coaching at a discounted price with multiple accountability partners.
